That'll be cool.

I'll be spending the next day scouting out sighting locations.

I'm hoping to be able to set up camp on the roof, but I doubt the government will allow that. No worries, we got plenty mountains around....and plenty of bugs....

After a day of searching, I finally found a great spot to observe it. Unfortunately, it will only be a partial solar eclipse, so special 'tools' are in order (pinhole camera, pinhole mirror, binoculars, sunglasses, video camera and a tripod).

This will be the longest eclipse in the 21st century.

That's pretty cool! Saw a partial eclipse, years ago, when I was a boy...standing with my back to the sun, with a box over my head (pinhole projector). Funny how people keep asking me if I still have that box...

Squall: actually, it should be around 330 am. If you want to see it go to the top of your house and watch. Im not entirly sure that it will be at 330 though, so go on top of your house around midnight, and wait.

I didnt bother if it was last night, dont think that I would see much any how it being dark an all. Unlike like some I live close too the coast, state wise not much else.

I'm well aware of what it is. On a clear night an if there was a full moon we would have a seem lunar. No, since we only learn are states.

Squall, a solar eclipse will never be on the same day as a lunar eclipse.....at least not in our lifetime.

Can't happen, ever. A lunar eclipse is where the Earth blocks the Sun's light from the Moon. So, a solar eclipse just couldn't happen on the same day. Doubtfully in the same century.

Not unless sometime in the future, something happens which results in earth gaining another moon...or if the moon speeds up its orbit...
