problems with downloading
« on: August 16, 2009, 06:06:35 PM »
hello,
I have recently had a problem with downloading files from the internet and really need some advice on what to do. When i go to download anything from the internet it comes up with the usual box prompting you to open, save or cancel and when i click on save and choose a location for the file another box appears saying 'preparing to copy' it then dissapears and leaves nothing i check the location of the file i tried to download but nothing is there. I have repeatedly tried to identify and fix the problem but so far i am unsuccessful, can anyone please give me some advice as i do not know if my computer has a virus, or some sort of software blocking downloads? it will be much appriciated

thanks!

      Reynolds221 Try to download this.

      Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from and save it to your Desktop.

          * Double click on RSIT.exe to run.
          * Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
          * Once it has finished, two logs will open.
          * log.txt <will be maximized and info.txt <will be minimized
          * Don't post the contents of the log here, instead post them in a new topic at The Malware removal Section, and Don't do anything of your own, wait for the specialists Advice.
