OS: Windows XP Home Edition SP3
    Mobo: Intel Desktop Board DG35EC
Bios: Not sure but never updated
    Ram: 2gb DDR2
CPU: I cant remember but it was intel and core 2 duo 3.0Ghz i think

    Thanks in advance,

    1.  I start to boot my computer and it gets to the blue intel loading screen
    2.  I try to press F2 to get into bios but i cant even do that...

    1.  Blue Intel or Blue Windows?
    2.  What is the result?  Still "frozen"?
    3.  Did you make any hardware changes lately?
    4.  Reset BIOS, pull battery and clear with jumper.
    5.  If still no go, a hardware component needs attention.
    6.  Check all connections, remove RAM and reseat, etc.
    7.  Unplug data cable to hard drive, CD-ROM and just get to BIOS, no boot.

Well ive had some luck, I tried booting without a hard drive to try to get into bios and that worked so i know its a problem with my drive so what should i do? Im thinking of connecting up to my old pc, recovering the files i need and just formating it. If you can think of a way to fix it that would be great and thanks for your help so far im almost there.

You can try connecting it to another computer, you have nothing to lose (except your data).  If you're lucky, it will work long enough to recover your personal stuff.  Then format it and throw it out or keep as a souvenir.

Ive just connected it to my computer but it wont show up in bios... I really have no need for my data but if i can keep it it would be nice. How can i use my drive in this other computer to get the data?

            Drive is SATA, not PATA?
Assuming you've connected it properly, Hard Drive is dead.

Ok this is where i stand now, i have narrowed it down to a hard drive problem, i can put my windows xp cd in the disk drive and boot into that, that is when it shows that there is no hard drive disk. I know all the cables for the disk are working and the drive itself is running whats up?

Bad drive or bad cable. You know the drive is running?
Try another cable. The SATA cable is easy to damage by a rough, clumsy person.  But we knew that could not be you.
