Is it me or are the textures on the weapons and certain objects very dark?

That might be your ATI's pixel shading feature..

First screenshot taken at 1024x786 @ 60Hz, 0 x AA, Medium settings.

Unfortunately, Fraps was corrupted so I could not see the FPS the game ran at. Does anyone remember the command to show FPS in BF1942?

Second image taken at 1024x786 @ 75Hz, 2 x AA, High settings

The first settings ran very well.

however, it had its occasional hic-ups with the second configuration. It did not run all too well when I was facing a direction with a lot of open space.

Loading after changing your video configuration seems to take a very, very, very long time as well so I made a sandwich in the meantime.

It only took me a few seconds for it to update my video

Well, none the less, it is definitely a game that I will buy as it seems to run even better than BF1942 or BF:V.

Well I'm still trying to decide if BF2 is good or not.  I loves 1942 and the combat mod.  I didn't like vietnam at all.  So far I'm impressed with the graphics, sys reqs and units but the jury is still out on vehicles.  Has anyone found out how to change the # of bots in a single player game?  My netspeed won't allow for online play and there's too few bots which makes the map too small.  I like to fly and there's not enough room for arial combat.

I've been looking at BF2 today, it looks tasty.

Can't say to much as I haven't played the demo yet,
but some of the screen shots look amazing.

Just one question, i only have 512 ram min, will this be enough to play on, I also have Sti radeon 9550 256mb graphics card with a 2.somthing GHz processor ?

I do not think it will run very smooth on your system. But it might run properly on the lowest settings.

Joleen, what type of connection are you using?

I made a mistake, I thought you had 256MB RAM. Nevermind, it should run quite decent with the system you have. Have you tried the demo yet?

I used to play BF1942 on 128KB/s cable and 32 players would, depending on the time of the day, cause lag.. However, it would run smoothly most of the time. 64 players was a big no-no, though.
