    windows update restart problem
    « on: December 20, 2009, 10:11:34 PM »
It seems that windows update wants to restart my computer, even thought 1. no updates get installed each time and 2. at stage 3 of 3 the percent indicator remains a 0% for about 2 minutes untill letting me login.  AV, defrag, chkdsk, startup repair all run.

Last updates installed on attached file

    hp tx2000
    nvidia chipset
    Vista Ultimate Sp2 86x
    3gb ram
    avast av

Okay - let's try uninstalling that update and rebooting. Does that work?

Can you try a startup repair? If none of the repair options work you may want to do an in-place upgrade (which is the best Vista offers as a repair install option).
