    IE wont load

    I am running XP Home and IE7 on my laptop.

    OE6 connects to Internet OK but IE7 won't??

    Any idea what the IE problem might be caused by?

    Try a different browser (Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome) and let us know what happens

      Question.....
      How am I supposed to install FF or OP if my laptop won't connect to the Internet other than OE ?

      DLoad it on another machine to a thumb drive and transfer it and install

        Now I appreciate what you are saying but it is based on the assumption that I am in a position or have the means to carry out your suggestion.
        What you are proposing is akin to replacing my car if I have a problem rather than fixing the problem.

        It would be preferable to endeavour to find out what the current problem is with IE7.

        BUT please don't write me off I am listening but would first like to get IE7 up and running.

        I want to find out if another browser will go online. If you want our help please follow the advice given. If not, that's fine too.

          This sounds like a connection problem...
          Turn off your router and modem...wait 2 minutes.
          Turn them back on and wait 5 minutes...
          Re-boot and see what happens...

            OK this is where I'm at CURRENTLy.....
            Ran WinsockxpFix.exe which did a reboot and at The Moment ALL running OK.
             ie: IE7 FF and OE6
            Now I'll reboot and see what happens.

            OK PTL all is still working OK....trust it remains so.

              Came back and rebooted computer..same problem..none connecting.
              Did the Winsock again and rebooted...nope same problem again

              Okay. Did you try resetting the router and modem as patio suggested? It does indeed sound like a problem with the connection.
