monitor says "burn in"then alternating colours when turned on

when turning monitor on the words "burn in" appear then alternating colours show on screen.
had deleted some "users" from comp.last night, then did virus check and reboot. now this morning monitor doesnt want to work

Do you have another monitor you can plug in?  If it works then it's fair to say there's a problem with your current monitor, if it doesn't work then the problem is with the computer, and we can go from there.


Or, could  you plug the monitor into another computer?
