Home networking to use a Printer wire connected to Desktop
« on: January 18, 2010, 09:16:48 PM »
Hello! I Have Verizon DSL Service with Acttiontec GT704WGB Mode.

A) I have one Desktop DELL 4500 with Windows XP direct wired to Modem and to HP Printer (Has no wireless capability)

B) One Desktop Dell 1200 with Windows 98 direct wired to Modem only.

C) One Dell Laptop 1100 with Wndows XP wireless to Modem (I would like it to network with the Desktops and be able to print using Dell 4500 that is direct wired to Printer).

D) One HP Laptop with Windows Vista wireless to Modem (I would like it to network with the Desktops and be able to print using Dell 4500 that is direct wired to Printer).

Any help will be appreciated, in enabling for A, B, C, D to open/share documents amongst each other and also be able to print from the Printer that is connected by wire to the Dell 4500.

Thanks Beachmonger 1

You should have no problem doing what you outlined.
Here is a general guide to home networks.

Problems with wireless are often with the security. But this should not be an issue, the Win 98 machine does not use wireless.
