There is also the school that subscribes to the "common usage" point of view. For example, I cringe when I hear "irregardless". But it has been added to most dictionaries as "uncommon form" or "common usage" meaning it's used so widely, albeit incorrectly, that it can no longer be considered 100% wrong.
