    Java Installation Error
    « on: March 10, 2012, 05:01:56 PM »
    Hi Guys,

Just putting this up here because I spent ages on this.

My java died for some reason a couple of days ago and it wasnt workign for a good while. I tried to start up minecraft today and found it wasnt working. Thought I would give a reinstall a try. Tried to uninstall and got hit by an error , vague and useless. Tried Revo , nope. Tried deleting all the reg entried i could find on java , nope. tried searching for regutils.dll (the problem , Internal Error 2753. regutils.dll ) , couldnt find anything (I had done a user migration due to a user profile corruption a couple of days prior). Finally found this:

    http://www.appdeploy.com/messageboards/tm.asp?m=47391&mpage=1&key=&#47391

    with a link to here:

    http://forums.whatthetech.com/index.php?s=6334ff68155749d5190eac5f1b44e445&autocom=downloads&showfile=41

I followed this through and downloaded the application , tried to reinstall and it worked. What it did , I have no idea , but it worked.

So just throwing this out there :)

Thanks for sharing and I believe the JavaMSIFix.exe is fixing the MSI (Microsoft Installer) registry entries for Java. :)

There used to be a tool made by Microsoft for removing botched MSI entries bt but they revoked it, it would seem.
