E3: Commodore unveils its U.S. desktop lineup
« on: July 13, 2007, 03:33:34 PM »
We found out back in March that the Commodore name had been scooped up by a Netherlands-based company looking to reinvent the brand as a modern gaming PC. Now we get wind of the new lineup of PCs coming soon (this quarter) to the States, first via online sales, with an unnamed big-box retail presence following afterward.

Sweet, looks like a good line-up.
Good to see another competitor in the high-end market, maybe some prices will fall following this.

I saw the new lineup at Cebit, it actually took me a while to figure out what the big new product was because the Commodore stand was mostly about German girls in tight tops and MP3 players. Can't say I was impressed when I finally figured it out either, I guess I'm past the time where I can get excited about a painted case. Nah give me a plain one that I can stick somewhere out of the way anytime and spend the money on the content inside case instead.

I'm with you Deerpark, not really one to get into the painted computers, especially when all my computers are under a desk and not seen. Since you were at Cebit I'm sure you probably have the best impression of what the computers really were too.

However, it is awesome to see the Commodore name back in computers after all these years.
