Syncing my ipod nano

Hello all,

I have recently run into a problem with my ipod nano.  I have purchased a few songs from I-tunes, and when I go to "sync" them to my ipod they will not transfer.  They are listed in my library and the box is checked.

Do you get an error message stating that they won't transfer? 

One common problem is if you haven't authorized your iPod to play the music, it won't transfer.  Is this ipod set to automatically sync with the mac the music is on, or is it set to manual?
