Macromedia Flashplayer Message
« on: June 17, 2009, 07:57:36 PM »
Not sure where would be best to ask about this.
Problem is that sometimes when on Webkinz, and does happen with other sites too at times too when just playing games. I get a weird message-
A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes or No. If I choose Yes, it will shut me off where I was and I can't continue and then if it's on Webkinz, I lose my money I paid to take this class because it thinks I just left.

This problem and so many other problems with like my CPU usage going up to 100% keeps happening ever since we switched from Earthlink Dialup Internet to Bellsouth DSL. Which another thing we keep trying to actually figure out ever since is how much memory does it actually take for a modem and router to be hooked up to a computer?
Thanks,
Amy

Amy, I doubt that this is due to a change of ISP - that's probably a coincidence.  I recall you saying elsewhere that your computer has issues.  Have you gone through the process of creating a HijackThis log and getting it checked here?  Go to the >Malware forum< for more assistance.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.

One of my brother-in-law's who is really good with computers, but of course he doesn't have alot of time a lives a good bit away also just got a new job and is swamped. He came over and trying to help me and mom with her computer too is having a bunch of problems too. The last time he came over, he put a bunch of stuff on both computers- ccleaner, malwarebytes, all that stuff. But one thing he said is not to have hijackthis fix anything because it will cause a big problems if you do. But said it's ok to keep it on the computer so that you can get a log for any forums out there, just don't have it fix anything though. Also, due to his job and all he hasn't got a chance to look into the combofix thing to figure out how to do it. I think he mentioned is it geeks to go? Is a site he goes on.
We also have had several different repairmen working on our computers over the years too. Which due to some stuff they did wrong, not sure who to use anymore.
Wasn't sure if due to the message if it's some kind of a memory problem? When my nephew who did alot of the stuff when we switched over, the Bellsouth installation cd put all these huge programs on the computer which alot of the stuff out there seems to say it's spyware. We did still have to get a repairman to help finish getting the Internet setup too because of my mom's computer wouldn't connect to the internet. Mine was connecting, but hers wasn't, and it turned out to be these clips in the wall that were defective and not holding together properly.

Amy, we keep telling you to go to the malware forum to have your PC checked but you don't seem to listen. Most, if not all your problems could be malware related and a few days could have them all gone.

It just adds confusion and seems like we are trying to use peer pressure to get Amy to do what we want and that is not what Computer Hope is about.
That seems to be the problem.

Amy, please go back to that topic and I will do my best to help.

Yes, but my brother-in-law who is helping with this hasn't had the chance yet to look into the Combofix thing. He hasn't even heard of that program. Due to my health problems I need help with this stuff. I can't do all this stuff on my own. I can't handle the stress either and due to my health not doing well and worse lately, is very difficult for me to understand things as well. Plus since my mom's computer is also involved with what stuff happens to mine, she also wants to make sure we don't do anything that will cause something to go wrong with hers.
Not sure when my brother-in-law will get the chance to help more, last time he was over though it took so long to do all he did do. Mainly due to how long it takes to run all the programs- ccleaner, malwarebytes thing, atf cleaner, so many stuff he put on both mine and mom's computers. Also, sort of trying to figure out if what he did do already helps with anything. Which these programs did find so many things. Sorry though for taking too long to do all the stuff.

One step at a time...usually gets the job done.
If you're not sure just browse the Virus and Spyware section and see the end result of EF's and the other Volunteers successes...

Hi AmyR7. Welcome to ComputerHope. Just vouching for the Malware team here at CH. These guys really know what they're doing. Head on over there, follow their directions, and you'll be clean in no time. I know some of the things might seem a bit overwhelming, but they'll walk you through it at whatever pace you need. You're in really good hands with those guys.  :)

I'm very picky about who I listen to when it comes to making changes on my computer and keeping it clean, but those guys have proven themselves time and time again. I wholly trust them, even if I'm not sure what they're talking about. :P

    Thank you very much.
Yes, this does look like a great site.
Like I said, still do need help with doing all the stuff though, and like I mentioned the other reasons taking a bit to do all this stuff. Plus like I mentioned how my mom's computer is hooked up to mine too. The Internet is all hooked up and everything else too, so whatever happens to mine affects hers too. So, I have to listen to her if she doesn't feel comfortable. Due to things that have happend in the past with techs messing up with our computers, she wants to be careful with what all we do. Which of course it has helped us learn more about computers over the years. Since my brother-in-law knows alot about computers, is a reason he is helping with things.
My health isn't doing well at all. So, all this stuff is too physically tiring to me doing all the stuff on my own and stress makes my illnesses worse too.
    Talk to you all later.
    Take Care,
    Amy
