I would have had a similar problem surely when I went to buy my Super Nintendo for Nostalgia's sake
Do a search for "SNES console" for example-
down the page you find the
actual console- all by itself, just the console (NTSC) and two controllers, for 60 dollars (the buy it now price).
however, the first hit is to
thisit's half the price, and claims to play both SNES and NES game cartridges. This by itself could woo any unsuspecting buyer. By a stroke of pure luck I had already heard about how horrible these things were- their sound was wrong, they often "forgot" to rewrite the cartridge SRAM (essentially erasing saved Data) and weren't even able to emulate all games. Personally, I went with a Console + 2 controllers + 12 games (I think it was 12, damned if I remember) for I think 160$ total. Ironically, this is more then it cost to buy a SNES when they first game out, iirc. heh.
needless to say, when you do a search for practically anything the cheapest items will always be completely knockoffs, not work properly, and needless to say be completely unsupported by the manufacturer.
