I left school before there was DOS,
BUT I still remember teachers would set homework or exams requiring essays with
"describe and discuss ........."
so no leap of imagination to think homework assignment could be
"describe and discuss motivation of ms-dos and the organization"

2.
Mostly this forum assists with real life problems of "how to use ..." and "how to fix ..."
This topic is more philosophical and I cannot see any practical immediate benefit other than writing an essay.

The Original Poster, Reebook,  did not use the word "describe" or the word "discuss."

I never said he had.

I actually said "... no leap of imagination ... " as justification for my belief that the key phrase "describe and discuss" is the motivation for this topic.

I merely IMPLIED that he merely OMITTED "describe and discuss" from the original assignment that had been set by his teacher / lecturer.
