« on: March 14, 2010, 10:56:59 AM »
Hi, I like computer games and there are alot of them made nowadays, but most of them require fast machines (stop rubbing me in the face taht I need to upgrade my pc, I just can't afford it) ... So maybe you could recomend me some good games for 3.2 ghz pentium 4 , 256 NVidia GF FX5200 and 1 gb ram ? many thanks ...  :-[

This is such a wide question. Can you narrow things down for e.g Genre, New/retro or online/offline. Just more specific info please.  ;)

If Action - Then "Devil May Cry 3"

If Action- Adventure - Then "Gta Vice City" Or "Gta San Andreas"

If RPG - Then "The Witcher" Or "Drakensang"

If Stealth - Then "Thief 3"

i like games with levels or unlocks (not only RPG's have it), multiplayer games with ability to play singleplayer, gta series all played out ... now as suggested i'll try The Witcher (hope it runs without lag) ... Thanks for replies ;)

P.S. CRI doesn't work ... it showed me all green and when I tried it, it lagged as Satan himself was in my pc ... But thanks anyway ;)

        Finally! Somebody with taste!  :)

My old PC had a slower config then yours and I played quite a few decent games. Since you want levels, though, I can recommend Fallout 1 or 2, which should work on that machine. I haven't played them myself, but I've heard good things about them.

They don't really meet your request, but other games that I played on that machine (still play them on this one too) were several Ports of older games- Doom via gzDoom, for example, and Duke Nukem 3d with the "HRP Lite" pack. Quake 1, 2, and 3 and their expansions/mission packs are usually good for quite a few hours of play.

Oh you really need to get out more  :-[

Facebook 'mafia wars, mob wars' are not games! They are a way to make you keep going back so they can hit you with loads of advertising.

If your opinion of a game is the ability to click a button after a countdown then I would go back to the beginning. Buy a NES or a SNES or even a commodore 64 and use some of the games... when you feel up to it you can upgrade to a PSX then when you start getting the idea feel free to get a PS2.. and you never know you may be ready for a PS3 within a year or so.  ;)

IMO SNES ->PSX is not an "upgrade".

          Hi ,
I recommand you Civilization 4. It is in my opinion the best strategy game, even if to finish a game takes a lot of time :).

This is a link to it:

          Enjoy it ! ;)

          Hi Mulreay,

I respect your opinion. But bottomline its still a game. A multiplayer browser game.  ;)

For me the definition of a game is simple

1: A contest with rules to determine a winner.
2: A single play of contest.
3: An amusement or pastime with a clear goal.

certainly not just waiting for a countdown timer.

But I do appreciate your post and 'mafia' stuff on facebook could be seen as a game.. to people who have nothing better to do.

Can you explain that better? Are you saying that CanYouRunIt lagged your computer or that it told you that you could run a game and then the game lagged really bad?

www.smallworlds.com, A virtual online world from people around the world It's kind of like Sims but online. You don't need to download this game has it runs through your web browser, Your system requirments don't really matter has long it works good and if you have an updated version of flash. I play this game, so just give it a try if you want.
