    Hello,

I've got a problem that I'd be very grateful if someone was to help me.

I cannot access from my browser my router configuration 192.168.2.1 from IE 7 despite being able to access the Internet. As a result of this I cannot change my settings to ensure my router is password protected or rename it.

I have tried practically everything in command prompt such as ipconfig/ all and ping 192.168.2.1. Pinging was initially successful however now it fails stating that "Request Timed Out" I have re-setted the modem, router countless times but to no joy. Could someone help me please

I am running Windows Vista and my router is a Micradigital WLAN. If I need to paste my IP settings etc. could someone please tell me how to do it from command prompt?

    Thanks very much in advance

    Allan

What makes you think it is 192.168.2.1? It is generally 192.168.1.1

I was told in my instruction manual that this is the number, unfortunatley there is no info on how to access the router settings when things go wrong :(

according to your ipconfig your default gateway is 82.43.112.1. try http://82.43.112.1

I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

Putting that into IE failed to work as well, do you have any other suggestions?

well, you could try the other IPs provided for a few fields in ipconfig:

          Quote
             DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 62.30.112.121
          and

                                                 194.168.8.100

Seems your router is in bridge mode if you have public IP on device behind the router.
But be carefull, if you reset it maybe you lost connection to internet.
Check your router manual how to reset it to default and then use default IP mentioned in manual (with login / password).
Which type your router do you have? I can check manul for you.
