Does PC mean a desktop computer?  I don't think so.  The model of my portable computer, as labeled on the computer, is "Compaq Presario F572US Notebook PC".   ;)

    In that case a desktop.

    :)

The hub looks good and should do. Thanks. I may add that card however it seems to be too much hassle.

Yeh - The cards are good as everything is kept neat (Nothing outside the PC) but involve you opening the PC and installing it (Not too hard, push into slot and attach screw) but the hubs are really easy - plug in and it works!

...Definitions generally make it so a laptop is portable- which is true, you can use it as you would use a portable (luggable, would be the more modern term).
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_computer

But there is no way anybody can consider that the Compaq Portable is even in the same class of "portability" as a modern laptop.
It was portable as in Portable typewriter vs Desktop typewriter.

    Yes- that's what I meant.
