    update ubuntu 9.10 to 10,4

    i/m running 9.10  with FF browser&have all my bookmarks ect.... the way i want  update manager  has 10.4 ready to install if i do  will i lose everthing &have to start all over as its taken me 6 months to set  9.10 the way it is i/m happy with it change or sit pretty?

    You should be able to do the upgrade via Update Manager and not "lose everything".  Still, be sure the backup your important files before proceeding with this.  Here's article which is a good reference: http://www.ghacks.net/2010/04/28/upgrading-from-ubuntu-9-10-to-10-4/

    It should leave everything intact that is important (like installed programs, bookmarks, files etc). But just like soybean I recommend up anything the is irreplaceable.

    this may be a old post but it does pretty much leave everything as it was.
