    HOME VPN
    « on: June 26, 2010, 08:57:40 AM »
    Hi,

Looking for some advice on setting up a true VPN type service from my home network, so I can VPN in from other locations and have access to all the assets on my home network.

I currently just have a Linksys router and the setting to allow one IP address to be in the DMZ seems rather insecure to me.   I've also not had any experience with tools like DynDNS but was thinking that may be a way to at least get a resolvable UNC without setting up a full server open to the internet.  Given that I'm running over Comcast Broadband,  Not sure if I could even do that since the IP address is dynamically assigned via DHCP every time my router needs to be rebooted...

Any advice from folks that have done this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks much..
