Cpu Problem

i think i have a cpu problem byt im not sure, Its just i have run 3D Mark 2003 3 times now and each time it does its tests it freezes my screen on the cpu test. Any suggestions why it would be doing this.

System
Amd2500
2 512DDR 3200
1 512 DDR 2100
Geforce FX 5900XT
windows XP Home

I think i may of missed telling you that i am overclocking my Gefore FX 5900XT.

I have read up on this and have changed the core clock Frequency from 300MHZ to 474MHZ and the memory clock from 700MHZ to 870.

The other tests work ok so why should it fail on the cpu test on 3D mark, what has the graphics card have to do with the cpu can you explain and maybe give some suggestions i could try. Im not worried about frying this computer as im getting another so any help would be good.

Could it still have somthing to do with the ram sticks. i have set it to no overclocking and i still get a freez on the cpu.

But im keen to overclock this card as ive read alot that it is good fro overclocking.

See if there are any compatability issues with your hardware and the current version of 3D Mark 2003.

Yes you need a good cooling system......more fans......in the side case and some like coolermaster on the cpu....

Overclocking one component will increase the overall temperature in your system case, leading to every component becoming hotter.

If you do not understand the basics of cooling, do not bother overclocking.
