I'm going to try to build my own machine, could use some advice.

I have two questions   1) What would be the minimum size required PSU for this configuration?
  and    2)  What do I need to drive the monitor?

I will use this machine to do my ordinary home business, surf the net, record home made music, burn CD's, and play a couple of low key games, like "Flight simulator" and "Big game hunting."

Anything above 400W should be OK, cause you said you will only use it for low key games. The more important part, though, is the amount of amperage on +12V. It should be 18A or greater. This should be listed under the specifications if you are using newegg.

What do I need to drive the monitor?

An nvidia geforce 9500 GT or greater or maybe a 240 GT. That should be sufficient for the games you want to play. Make sure you get a PCI-Express card, not PCI.

LINUX711;  OK I will order a Rosewill Stallion Series RD500-2DB 500W ATX12V Power Supply..I have been looking at that  for a while.  However, it has two 12v sources, v1 and v2, rated at 15 and 16 amps respectively.  would that do it??
Secondly;  I like the ASUS    EN8400GS Silent/P/512M GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card because it is cheap and does not have a fan.   I don't know what it's GT rating is (9500 or 240) .    What do you think???  JIM

Yah, I guess, but I usually like to get PSUs with at least one of those at 18 amps or greater. I think you should look for another PSU. Antec PSUs are my favorite. I got a Rosewill once that I had to send back after the first week.

It's an 8400 GS which is worse than a 9500 GT. FYI: 9500 GT isn't it's rating, it's just the model.
As for the 240. That's a different product line, so the numbers are different.
On newegg, under GPU, go to geforce 9 series, that should bring you to a page with some 9500s. They are a little more expensive, but worth it.
