Printer drivers
« on: February 14, 2011, 11:58:27 AM »
I've been informed that Lexmark hasn't and probably never will come up with divers for my Lexmark 1270 all-in-one printer.  Any suggestions on what steps I might use to either get around this, or as some have told me ' build my own' ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Thanks in advance for help.

How much research have you done already? Did you post your question on one of the Ubuntu forums.
Does this printer do wireless network?
You can get the printer to work as a basic printer in Linux. The hard part is getting all the features to work.
See if there is a PCL mode for the printer.
See if the scanner conforms to TWIN .
See if there is a Linux module that can encapsulate a windows driver.

Here is avideo taht might give you some ideas.
