    I had installed a new harddrive because of a previous problem and connected the cables and put the computer back together.

    I placed it on my desk and tried to turn it on.. I can see the green light on the back of the computer but when I press the power button it disappears and the computer won't turn on.

    Is this a new harddrive, straight from the box ??  Has it got a Operating System on it ??

    PSU shuts down after you press the on button? Check cables and replace PSU if cables are in order.
