Problem with filenames when copied to suse linux web server
    « on: April 02, 2012, 04:37:23 AM »
Hi! I hope somebody out there can help me with these problems:

Extension names of image files automatically converted to uppercase when copied to suse linux server from USB drive.

This happens everytime I copy the file and its in random, I can't decipher the logic behind automatic conversion of filename of some image files.

Is there any command in Linux that when files are being copied from USB drive it will retain the case of the letters, since most of these image files were being used in a website ubloaded in a web server running using suse linux. We don't have web min or c panel loading of files (web pages done in XAMPP in windows) in the web server is through copying from usb  to suse linux web server.

    Thanks a lot

How sure are you that they were not uppercase as far as Windows was concerned?  And does it really matter?
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
