    Any one tell how to unfreeze the desktop in display properties  I cannot change the wall paper as all selections are greyed out.
    Computers are my hobby and my income love working with computers

    How are you regarding spsyware/adware/virii, etc?? What happened preceding this?

      Sounds like your system is either defaulting to 'Safe mode' properties or you may need to reinstall/update your display driver.

      Try updating the display driver through device manager.

      Hold down Win Logo and Pause/Break key> hardware tab> Device Manager>
      Go down the list to Display Adapter and click the cross to the left>
      Right click on the driver name and left click update driver then just go through the wizard.

      If you get an error it may be worth downloading a new one from the manufactiurers website.
