Presario 3200: RAM or Videocard conflict
« on: October 23, 2005, 11:38:09 PM »
Daughter wanting to play SIMS 2 so added 128 RAM to make 256 and Aopen MX4000 PCI video card. The PC originally came with 32mb onboard AGP and has no AGP slot. Processor is Celeron 800. It will not recognise there is 256mb of RAM. Now, somehow, we have a registry corruption which stops BIOS access, disallows Windows ME reinstall and  we cannot boot up from floppy to reinstall Windows. Changing the hard drive won't change my ability to get to the BIOS so does anyone have any suggestions (other than throwing away the PC !! )

Then get into bios & disable the onboard video.
