Cant open any websites, but am connected

I have toshiba satellite L300, shows im connected, but browsers wont open any sites. tried firefox and ie, the internet works, other comps connect fine, then i plugged it in to router, shows as connected, but same problem, wont open any websites. I tried adding default gateway to the dns, but it didnt help.
any ideas what to try next? I also did a malware scan and all good there.

Ignore the above Post...

Are you saying no pages will open in multiple browsers ? ?
Open a command prompt from Start/accesserories...
Type in ipconfig /release and hit enter...
Then type in ipconfig/renew and hit enter.
Re-boot and see what happens.

tried it and it worked, briefly, but this morning it wont work again, everything else seems fine, i have never seen this problem before,
any other ideas?

You can run it as needed...also as i don't have a way of knowing all what you have changed i would re-set your router back to it's default settings...
If no joy-joy from that then delete your wireless connection and re-create it from scratch...that'll be back to all Win default settings as we...

ok thanks, but not the router, i have other computers hooked up, also, not the wireless either, because i plugged directly into modem and still wont work, i have never seen this problem before, everything is showing it is connected, but nothing opens in multiple browsers

Then your best bet is deleting the Network connection and build it back from scratch...
