Hi everyone,
I am having a weird sound issue on Windows 7. Well, I am not hearing any sound from my speaker. In other words, I hear nothing!
Some troubleshooting I did are as follows:
-Yes, my driver is updated! I updated it via device manager and I even checked the last audio version driver on my motherboard's site.
-Yes, I checked the sound icon on my taskbar. It is NOT mute and speaker's slider is fully 100%.
-Yes, my speaker is set to default as Playback!
-Yes, all levels are 100% on the Speaker Properties.
-There is no issue on device manager. I mean no exclamation mark or any yellow icon. Everything is OK.
-I have even disabled the audio on device manager and enabled it after 15 minutes, again no sound.
-I even rolled back driver on device manager, again no sound.
-I uninstalled the driver, installed again and rebooted, but the issue persists. I did it with both my motherboard's driver for audio and the Microsoft Windows automatic driver. No sound!
-I am using a speaker where the cord is plugged on the green jack in rear. It has always been there. However, on the speaker interface, the green jack is greyed. It does recognize other jacks, except the green is greyed. (Refer to screenshot)
-Also, when I play a media, it does detect it as the green slider is moving. (Refer to screenshot)
My specs:
ASUS P5KPL-CM
VIA audio
I hope I have mentioned the necessary details here. I did get this issue before, many months ago, but I did not remember how I solved it. Help please, because as an IT guy myself, I am becoming mad. I do not want to reinstall my OS for such a stupid issue.
So, experts who are here...help me!
Thank you!
