I had the same problem upgrading from 8.1 to 10. While 3rd party software works great anything relating to Windows won't. Can't update, can't use Windows Mail (which is suppose to be good), can't use Windows Defender, and can't use some of the other features of Win10. The problem is with the Proxy, I can't shut it off. I have two other Win10 computers and a Windows tablet that were upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and no problems, just this one which is my main computer.

I have tried using MS support but got nowhere with them, about the best they could do was tell me to go into the lan settings and turn off the Proxy but doing that does nothing because when I close that and then go back there it is the proxy is checked. It just won't turn off. Now I use Foxfire and it works great, but still I can't upgrade or update this computer.
