Windows98- "Internet options" in control

Hi,

I am unable to open the file "Internet options" in start/settings/control panel. The icon when clicked does not open the file. It was ok till a couple of days ago. Is there any other way of opening the file (it may be corrupted) ? Pl advise action needed.

Right click it and select open?

Try booting into safe mode and opening it?

You can choose to restart in MS-DOS mode and use the scanreg /restore command at the command prompt.
Then choose a date when it worked last and see if that helps.

You can open it from within IE under the tools menu.

Are you logged in as Admin?
Have you installed any anti-malware programs to lock the IE control panel?
What happens if you try it in safe mode?

I am not logged in as an admin

I have not installed any mal-ware program to lock the control panel.
Only Norton antivirus program is installed from the beginning

When i started in safe mode, I tried clicking the icon of "Internet Options" in start/settings/control Panel . The file did not open.

Log off and log in as admin.
