I downloaded Bitdefender for the anti ransomware. Is that ok? If it is, how does it work? Right now it says Protection Enabled, Ransomware Protection is on and The Protection against Ransomware is now active.

hang on... is the PC working now?
I thought it was hacked by ransomware and you couldn't do anything on it?

I can still go on the internet, it's just sometimes I'll get ransomware which I ignore. The thing is that I just got ransomware again and Bitdefender didn't block it.

You need a full wipe and a clean install as suggested above...

I downloaded Bitdefender and Spy Hunter5. The only problem with Spy Hunter5 is that I have to pay for it. I need free ransomware.

Now, I'm having major problems with the laptop. It automatically shuts off and it will say "Restore Pages? Google didn't shut down correctly." Its very annoying.

Now, like you mentioned that I need a full wipe and clean of Windows. How do I go about doing that? Will I lose all of my information? Dumb it down for me because I have no idea what to do.

we still don't know the status of any backups you may/may not have....

as Patio states in post #13 - time for a professional.  if the PC has been infected, who knows what further 'damage' you are doing to your personal files with you using the PC.
is the infection sending itself to all entries in your address book?, is your personal info being harvested and sent out to the ether? - who knows.

priority one - an expert will remove your hard drive and recover your personal files that way.  the drive (and data recovered) gets checked as things are copied so your data is 'clean'.
then that drive can be put back in and Windows reloaded, then all the software you need, then your personal files put back, then customised with your settings etc.

Where do I get this expert? Do I call them or email them? Are they online? I just don't know where I should turn too.

best option is always 'word of mouth' - that is, do you have friends, family, neighbours who have used, and recommend, someone they have taken their PC to in the past?
what about the telephone directory; YellowPages (or your local equivalent).

then there's the local newspaper; Classifieds or "Find a Tradie" or Local Services sections.
what about Facebook groups promoting local companies in your area?
and of course, just plain Google "computer repair shops in <insert your town here>"
