Bootdisk.com gives the following versions of boot disks available to download.  What are the differences in each version ???  BTW, I am running Windows 98 that came pre-installed on my Compaq/Presario 5242 :'(

Windows 98 OEM | Alt1 | Alt2
Windows 98 Custom, No Ramdrive | Alt1 | Alt2

if you have a pre-installed system you may not need a bootdisk from bootdisks.com as you should have a cdrom recovery disk that came with your system  there are various differences in boot disks some have cdrom drivers etc   some do not you must have made your own ebd.......?

What OEM means can differ per product. Basically it means it only came with the most necessary items. Thus, a very small manual and only the product itself.

download the boot floppy or have you a win98 install disk? i would go for  a clean install? the cdrom win  should do it all for you?
