For now I think I'll take a pass. The article seems to lean toward IE playing catchup to Firefox. Why bother?  Personally I prefer Firefox 1.5 and only use IE for Windows Updates. Unless Microsoft comes up with some new and exciting features, I can't see a reason to go back. That will probably be my same reasoning with VISTA. I'll probably stick with XP if the best Microsoft can offer is AERO. Besides, most of VISTA's new features are scheduled to be back ported to XP (including WinFx).

Just my 2¢.  8-)

I've got it downloaded and installed on one of my computers, just to check it out and make sure the site and the forums work ok. Unfortunately however it requires you to reboot and I'm not yet prepared to reboot that computer.

It is still a crappy, non standards compliant browser. I wonder...... why does MS think standards are established?

Microsoft has always wanted to be the standard. That's the way you begin or remain a monopoly.  :o

Meh. I'll try it. I'll probably stick with FireFox, though. :D

Microsoft is playing the one-up game. If they can offer one more feature than Firefox, they'll be happy. Plus, if they don't make a new version, they're giving up. Microsoft is such a big company, the people who are less computer savvy than we will try it.

          DON'T GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear, I got it, and I hate it. Nothing is in easy-to-find menus. I tried to go back to 6.0 and it won't let me, saying a better version is installed and setup will now close. I may need to go through the registry, but I'll get away from this scum-sucking browser.  >:(

You're welcome. I can't get it to go back to 6.0. I have tried everything short of a disk format, and it's not that big of a problem. Really, I can tolerate it. Besides, I only use it for updates... ;)

EDIT: I found an option that restores classic menus. So go ahead and d/l it if you WANT, but it still is a FireFox mock-up.
