It should be blank. I was thinking that there may have been some files cued from elsewhere but it being rules that out.
Have you tried rebooting?
Do you know how to use the Task Manager?

i use memorex and i tried some other cheap cd's, im familiar with task manager. what do you want me to do

Nero would be a much better option but of course, it costs. Some companies are/were giving OEM versions of it away as long as you buy something from them. Misco was one such company if memory serves me well.

Anyway, reboot first and see what happens.

Bring up the Task Manager and see if there's anything running that may be using the CD.
If not, set a restore point, install RecordNow and try with that. The problem is that if there is something using the CD, then no application will work properly.
