but How would you access a web site through DOS?

    There is no DOS on that machine! Were you talking about command prompt (which is not the same)?

      It depends on what you mean by wanting to access a web site through DOS ... but there are several command line tools that you can use to do specific tasks, and there is even a DOS version of the Lynx web browser for web browsing in DOS.

        DOS is an operating system that  your computer would "boot into".  CMD is a program that runs under the Windows operating system that lets you run many DOS-based programs.  CMD has a lot of enhancements over DOS, but there are also some DOS programs that don't run properly under CMD.
