Not exactly what you asked for but I had a similar problem when I did my first re-install with Outlook Express. I had to go to the root folder where it saves the data in this case .dbx files (I think). Then once I re-installed Windows I had to go back in the root folder, copy and paste them. There was a transfer wizard but I found it easier to do it manually.
