Adobe Products VS. Jasc Paint Shop Pro/Corel
« on: May 12, 2006, 12:24:46 PM »
I'm currently using JASC Paint Shop Pro 10.01/X and Corel Draw.  I've played around a little with Adobe Photoshop and Elements (forgot what version.), and I found that Adobe had more capabilities, but crashed a lot and adding effects was slow going. I like PSP, because it's cheaper and doesn't crash on me too much. Which way should I go, Adobe or Jasc? Also, any idea how much either product will slow down an XP system?

Thanks. ^^

Use the right tool for the job.

I'm using version 5 of Paint Shop Pro.  It is very quick on my PC and does everything that I need to to do.  I am not highly artistic, and would gain very little from having Photoshop.  If you are a graphics expert and want the additional features of Photoshop (those same features which can apparently slow it down or make it unstable), go for Photoshop.

Alternatively, ditch both and plump for The Gimp, which is very Photoshop-like and free.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
