Modem Problems
« on: September 03, 2004, 05:34:29 AM »
I'm currently having a modem problem.  I have an old computer, running windows 95, and it will not connect to my ISP.

I've ran diagnostics on the modem, it says it's fine.  I've updated to WinSock2, also downloaded LSPFIX and ran that.  Still having the same problem.

I'm using the same ISP service, and same phone line, as this computer, which has no troubles at all..

When I try to connect, it'll dial (get's a dial tone no problem), then it'll make the connecting noise (like a fax machine), after that it just times out and says something along the lines of "The computer you're dialing disconnected, please double-click and try again".  It doesn't try to login, register or anything, just stops.

I really can't figure this out, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

delete your connection...dont panic .....keep you dun number and password and make a new connection...or check that your firewall is not causing this..or pop-killer any error message displayed?
