SBS 2003 antivirus question
« on: July 27, 2006, 08:53:07 AM »
My company is currently using Trend Micro Security Dashboard for small business servers. It's alright, but a bit on the pricey side. I've done some research into a cheaper alternitive. I need a antivirus that I can push down from our server to 7 client computers, something that has enough power to protect well ,auto update, auto remove, and scan.
I looked at the Avast! SBS Suite, it looked ok, but I can't seem to locate any kind of reviews or anything for it.
If anyone has any kind of knowledge about this kinda thing, I would appreciate some assistance.
Thanks

Saviour

Zine,

Have you tried looking into AVG Network Edition from Grisoft?

Here's a link to their product:

http://www.grisoft.com/doc/22/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

There are plenty of reviews online...just do a search for "AVG Network Edition review".

Sorry Can't help you with Avast!  SBS Suite.

All my best...

I didn't realize that AVG had a server antivirus. I use AVG for my computers at home.
I've noticed that the free version of AVG doesn't do much against those annoying Trojans, does the server edition do any better?

If you check AVG's site they also offer a free version of Ewido which does an excellent job with trojans...Unfortunately these days you need more than a few layers of protection. No single program goes after everything as each threat is highly specialised.

At any rate i highly recommend it...

I use Avast free home edition and I think it is better than AVG. That, and a firewall (and common sense), and I never have problems with viruses, and I don't scan for months at a time.
