computer on drugs

my computer takes almost five minutes to boot up. it seems like its taking forever to load all the programs and make it just to the main window page with all the icons.

    lou....what operating system are you using and how many programs are in your start menu ?
    Is this something that has just started?

    Do these things on a regular basis:

    • Scan for viruses/trojans
    • Scan for Spyware
    • Defragment your harddrives/partitions
    • Remove redundant files
    • Clean Registry
    • Uninstall programs you no longer use


    A very simple job of maintaining your PC. Even if it has always been a slow PC, maintaining it properly will give you better results.
