Network Connection Cycling Off-On
« on: August 17, 2006, 03:55:20 PM »
I have been having the strangest problem with my laptop's network connection.  Whether I am hard lined or connecting through wifi, it constantly loses and then regains connection.  The problem occurs at work by hard wire and wifi all the time and has happened at two hotels on the road through only wifi.  Strangely, it will sometimes stop doing it when I am at home connecting by wifi to my own home network.  When that happens, the computer seems to stabilize while at home and then when I take it to work, it will be fine from anywhere between an hour to several days.  It eventually starts happening again, though.  My laptop is a Toshiba A45-S121.  Its ethernet port is on-board.  The wifi card is a netgear WG511.  At home, my access point is a 2Wire Homeportal.  At work the access point is a Linksys BEFW11S4.  I am not sure what was at the hotels.  ANY THOUGHTS?
