IE error

I found this computer in the garbage. I reformatted it and installed Win2k. Before I did all that I plugged it in to the internet and it wouldnt connect. I tried again after the format and windows install and It still wont connect. At first i thought maybe the network card was shot, but then I noticed this error.

res://C:\winnt\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm

Any ideads?

installed Firefox and it doesnt work either. Maybe it is the network card.

It looks as if it is trying to log on to a non-existant network. Try disabling mapped network drives and file shares.

and it appers me this in the upper left of the window, this message:

Hi  I do no think could be the network card cause I have a pc connected to a LAN  and I can see it in the network, but I can not access to internet.
