Win 2000 boot disk
« on: November 13, 2006, 11:17:40 AM »
I I have win 2000 on one computer and it won't boot up. When it boots up I get this error .Win 2000 would not be started because of the following file is missing or corrupt.
winnT\system32\config\systemced.
The problem is I don't have a boot disk.Is it possible to download a boot disk?
Thanks

You can get all kinds of boot disks at www.bootdisk.com, but that will not help. Do you have a real Windows CD? That will be the solution.

F8 is not related to the problem. The solution is that you need to set the computer to boot from the CDROM first. This is done in the BIOS boot order. Just make sure that the CD is higher in priority than the hard drive.

To Boot To The Floppy Drive
On most Motherboards, you click DEL to get into the BIOS settings. When the computer s booting up it will say (Press DEL to Enter Setup) <<<It might be an F# Key<<< Enter BIOS, poke around and look for where you can change your boot order. Set your Floppy drive first (A) -Then save changes -Restart

And... You can get a bootdisk here>>>
http://www.wwchosting.net/bootdisk/makeboot.exe

I ALSO ATTACHED IT...

Run the EXE and stick a floppy in your drive
It will make a bootdisk for you!     ----POST if you need more help ;)----
