SOTE.... I think guess that's Shadow of the Empire. Probably not, but that's the only SOTE I can think of.

Yes, as far as I know, SOTE is Shadow of the Empire.

    That would be correct.

It's funny to me that N64 is listed as a retro console.

Why not? It's been around now for more than a decade.  Nintendo already moved two consoles away from the N64 with GameCube and the Wii.  Besides, for many of us here I would think that the N64 was probably our first gaming console that we played along with the original Playstation. It was for me.  Sure I have played SNES, Sega Genesis, and others alike, but that's because I have older cousins that let me play them when I visited.  We still play Duck Hunt from time to time along with many rounds of Goldeneye that my cousin owns us at.

:P i still own all mine...

genesis (called the mega drive in oz)
    playstation 1, 2, 3
    Xbox
    atari (original console)
    saturn
    gamecube
    gameboy pocket, micro, colour, advance
    DS
    PSP
game gear (rare, doesn't work anymore)
    PC (duh)
    commodore 64
    bunch of emulators...

all of these are either in my cupboard (sorta like the abyss that long dead topics fall into) or are lost (like my micro, which fell down a drain), or are broken, or are used regularly..

    i still need an xbox 360 :P

It's just that "retro" is often synomymous with "vintage".  And it would definitely be a stretch to say that N64 is vintage.  I'm sure it's up for debate, but I think that currently, "retro" refers to anything from the 80's and earlier.

I grew up playing Atari 2600 and NES, so it's just hard for me to think of N64 as being a retro console.

I would have to agree that the N64 certainly isn't vintage.  The system has only been around about a decade or so.  It's not exactly hard to find anything N64 related on eBay.  I've purchased many games and other N64 items on there for very little money.  Though I would have to say that it does seem to have a old-school appeal to it now.  For many of us younger members who grew up playing the N64, it has that classic feel to it already now that we've moved on to other systems including the PC.

Well, N64 was quite good for it's time.

And think that it can be considered retro, because it now has two other preceding game consoles (GC and Wii).

I think it still is.  Anybody up for some Pokémon Puzzle League?

I think Pokémon Gold and Silver were the best. I think it had a better storyline.
I have the game on the computer. I got these roms from the internet and a gameboy player. Really cool thing.
Don't know if this would count as advertising but do a search for 'Gameboy Roms' in google.

Wasn't Gold and Silver the one where there was the Red Gyrados and that you discovered that Giovanni had a son? Give me a quick refresh - 25 words or less

And Emulator, as well as Roms, should give some good results. I like using them because you can just cheat to get up to the part of the game you want (I've already bet the game, don't worry).

it's fun just holding down the key you have assigned to 10x/100x speed, then just cruising through the boring bits, it helps with training too...

Yeah Dark Blade, Gold and Silver is the one with the red Gyrados and the secret underground base.
I think Ruby and Sapphire has good storylines too and good graphics.
