ybrowser.exe error message.
« on: December 29, 2006, 06:35:59 PM »
this is my first attempt at using computerhope so pls. bear with me.
i have a dell, xp os and for the last 3 months i'm getting an error message in a box that is titled" ybrowser.exe". the message refers to "ox68009430". it gives the option of "debug by clicking on cancel" which i do, but the message continues to reappear.  the only thing recently downloaded was "Launchcast" a music station that can be customized and available from the yahoo browser tool bar. i searched computerhope with a text query and a query with just the error message number but to no avail.
any help or comments will be appreciated.

ybrowser.exe is the Yahoo Browser. The file may have become damaged or there are other problems.

I would start by reinstalling the Yahoo software if you want to keep it.

Google is a great source of information:

What are you using for virus/spyware protection by the way?

thanks for your quick, kind reply. I will follow your suggestions i.e. Google and reloading yahoo.
The virus software is the Yahoo Pkge., Anti Virus, Anti Spy, Pop Up Blockr. etc. I acquired their pkge. when i signed on for their DSL, Phone LD and local etc.
thanks again,

You may want to have a read here as well. That protection may not be enough.

The online free scanner at www.trendmicro.com is always a good stop also.

I would make sure that computer is squeaky clean and that may not be enough for your system.
