Keep getting disconnected
« on: January 17, 2007, 07:15:06 PM »
My cable internet will randomly disconnect for a split second, I get the balloon in the taskbar that says a network cable has been unplugged. I'm connected thru a newly purchased router and a cable modem thats about 5 months old. What could be causing this? It will just disconnect and work a split second later. Is this faulty hardware? software? I would also like to add other computers on the network have the same problem.

nuk1m00......  Just a comment about your posts ....... Only post in one location , posting the same issue on more than 1 board just creates confusion and you will not get the attention you expect .

Now then ..... what happens if we remove the router as a test and just connect directly from the modem to one computer ........ do we still have the same issues or are things ok ?
What is the make and model of your router ?
Is the router wired or wireless?
    Then you said ,

Does this mean it's doing this all the time or just once and then it's ok ?

    We'll await some answers.
