Problems installing Gigabyte 7NF-RZ motherboard
« on: October 05, 2004, 09:55:45 AM »
Recently installed a Gigabyte 7NF-RZ mothboard into a Win98 system and get device manager error codes for several of the subsystems including the NIC, primary and secondary IDE controllers (all code 10), AC97 audio (code 2) and PCI system management bus (code 28 ).

I've been concentrating on trying to get the NIC working. For that, I've copied the drivers from the installation CD to a floppy (my CD drive doesn't show in Explorer; probably related to the IDE controller issue), and attempted to install them both through "update drivers" and by deleting the NIC in devman and allowing windows to re-detect it. Either way, windows seems to find everything it needs, but when I restart the system, the NIC is back to code 10.

Anybody else experience this, or have suggestions?

See if everything is set properly in your BIOS.
