Sata2 compatibility with Mobo

I'm building a new computer and considering the ASUS P5B-E.  How do I know if it's Sata2 compatible?  Should I spend the extra money on Sata2?  I mostly back up movies and use the computer as a HTPC.

I already did, it just says Sata, http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=307&model=1347&modelmenu=2.  I didn't know if you could plug a Sata2 into a Sata connection, or if it's a whole different specification and mobo.

SATA2 is backwards compatible with SATA.
But it won't work at full SATA2 speed, only at SATA speed.
Not a problem, as HDDs today don't use the full bandwidth available anyway.

Thanks.  I have to make Wikipedia part of my normal quest.  Unless the price is the same, I think I'll skip going to Sata2.

Would you really hot swap a Sata drive?  I've swapped USB harddrives, but always clicking first on the icon in the corner.

I've never swapped a drive without using the safely remove hardware icon, I've seen a lot of drives die when this isn't used.
As for internal drives, I don't know if it's possible or advisable.
If it was my PC, I'd shut it down before swapping an internal drive, just to be on the safe side.
