Read the below site to get to your BIOS to see if onboard sound
is enabled.

      *censored*, do I really have to do that? That is a major undertaking, is there any other way of finding out?

      On most cases that is removing three screws at most.  ::)

      You can also look on the back of the case and see if there are sound ports in an expansion card slot as well as some from the motherboard itself (and therefore not in a slot).
